Abstract:The dissolution of microcrystalline cellulose in Bola-imidazolium based silicone ionic liquids was investigated. The both original microcrystalline cellulose and regenerated microcrystalline cellulose from Bola-imidazolium based silicone ionic liquids were characterized by polarizing microscope (POM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and thermogravimetry (TGA). The results show that the Bola-imidazolium based silicone ionic liquids can dissolve microcrystalline cellulose effectively. The decomposed temperature of regenerated microcrystalline cellulose is 234 ℃ and decreased in comparison with decomposed temperature (320 ℃) of microcrystalline cellulose, caused by changing of their crystal type.
