Abstract:Due to the uncertainty of petroleum supply in the future and the environmental pollution concern, there is a growing interest in developing polymeric materials from renewable resources. On the other hand, UVcurable resins based on UVcuring technology bearing the advantages of high efficiency, low energy consumption, and extremely low VOC emissions have drawn much attention. In this paper, we reported the research progress in the plant oilbased UVcurable resins in aspects of various prepolymers including unsaturated ester prepolymers (such as epoxy acrylates and polyurethane acrylates), active diluents, epoxy resins, thiolene coupling resins, etc. Moreover, the prospect of the plant oilbased UV curable resins has been described.
