Abstract:The physical and mechanical properties, curing characteristics and dynamic mechanical properties of non-directional carbon nanotubes(CNTs)/carbon black(CB)/natural rubber(NR) wet blends by formulation were studied, and compared with traditional dry blends. The results show that with the increase of the amount of carbon nanotubes in the co-precipitated compound, the scorch time and optimum cure time of the compound are reduced gradually. The wet mixing compound has higher tensile strength, tearing strength and elongation at break than the dry mixing compound,t10 is reduced by 11% and t90 is reduced by 18%. Compared with the reinforcement system of single filler, the formulation of filler is more conducive to the dispersion of the two fillers. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), rubber processing(RPA)and dynamic mechanical property analysis(DMA)show that compound filler system is better dispersed in natural rubber and the tensile strength, tear strength and elongation at break of the composites are higher.
