Abstract:Secondary grafting copolymers (L2G) of LLDPE and dripping agent glyceryl monostearic acid monoacrylic acid diester (GMSAA) were successfully prepared by pre-irradiation and secondary grafting. The structure and properties of L2G were characterized by FT-IR, DSC, material testing machine, droplet shape analyzer, SEM and accelerated dripping tester. The results show that the characteristic absorption peak at 1635 cm-1 disappears and a new characteristic absorption peak appears at 1730 cm-1 in FT-IR spectra of L2G, which proves that GMSAA has been grafted onto the LLDPE molecular chains. Compared with the primary grafting, the grafting ratio of L2G reaches 1.74%, which is increased by 51.3%. The crystallization temperature of purified L2G increases, the melting temperature and mechanical properties do not change much compared to pure LLDPE. The accelerated dripping period of L2G/LLDPE/EVA film is up to 24 d at 60 ℃, which is 1.41 times of the same conditions for blend.
