Polyamide 6-block-polyethylene glycol copolymers (PA6-b-PEG) were prepared by in-situ polycondensation via one-step method, and were melting blended with ABS to get permanent antistatic ABS. Soft-to-hard ratios (PEG/PA6) of PA6-b-PEG were changed to study the effect of PA6-b-PEG on the antistatic properties of ABS. FT-IR characterizations show that the PA6-b-PEG is successful synthesized. The antistatic performance test results show that the surface resistivity and volumetric resistivity of the ABS materials are decreased compared with those of the pure ABS,and the antistatic properties of ABS/PA6-b-PEG can meet the demands for application. The washing durability of antistatic ABS with a soft/hard ratio of 50/50 is the best. The melt flow rate(MFR) test shows that the antistatic ABS with PA6-b-PEG has a better processing fluidity. The tensile test results show that the tensile strength and bending strength of the antistatic ABS are lower than those of the pure ABS.
