Polybutene (PB) resin is unique in the polyolefin family due to its polycrystalline type and the characteristics of slowly occurring polymorphic crystal structure transformation during crystallization. How to accelerate the transformation from less stable crystal II to stable crystal I is an urgent problem to be solved in the industrial application of PB. In this paper, the crystal types and structures of PB are summarized, and three kinds of theories to describe the crystal transition behavior of PB, including solid-solid transition theory, internal stress-induced transition and strain-molecular chain theory, are introduced. The internal and external factors affecting the transformation rate of PB crystals are analyzed. Finally, some suggestions are put forward to further study the crystallization behavior of PB resin.
