Abstract:Polyurethane is a widely used polymer material, which can be divided into four categories: traditional solvent- based polyurethane, waterborne polyurethane, cyanate polyurethane and bio- based polyurethane. Due to ester bond, ether bond and biuret groups in polyurethane molecular chain, the storage stability, thermal stability and water resistance of polyurethane materials are poor, which affects the further application of polyurethane materials. The modification of epoxy resin can increase the crosslinking degree of the material, reduce the water absorption rate of the material, improve the comprehensive mechanical properties of the material without affecting some special properties of the material itself. Modified polyurethane materials have important applications in coatings, sealing materials, adhesives, grouting materials and other fields, are the most widely used in the field of coatings, commonly used as anti-corrosion coatings on the surface of bridges, ships and offshore work platforms. This paper mainly introduced the research progress and application of epoxy modified polyurethane, and put forward the prospect of the research direction of epoxy modified polyurethane.
